WARNING: This is going to be a long one…
(TWSS!)
I got tagged by Rena for a Facebook version of those long lost e-mail survey chains. I’m too lazy to tag people with mine, so I’m posting it on here — do what you want with it.
Instructions: Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a note with 20 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 16 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. You have to tag the person who tagged you.
The way I naturally talk to myself in my head is the way I would narrate a TV show about my life. “I started typing about myself on my lunch break, hoping that someone would find it interesting…”
I like looking up when I’m standing beneath a tree to see the patterns the leaves make against the sky. I took this picture in Korea, and I love these leaves because they look like stars.
My favorite place to stargaze is on our driveway at home. It’s not that it’s the best place to see the stars (thanks to a huge street lamp in front), but it’s a spot that always reminds me to look up before running off to my next destination.
My neck has been cracking like crazy recently, and it’s starting to freak me out. Advice?
Whenever I do something, I always think about the first person who ever did that same thing. The guy I think about most often is the first person who put on contacts because it’s something I do every morning. I think about how happy he must’ve been when he could see so well, and people must’ve thought he was nuts for volunteering to stick pieces of plastic in his eyes. Yeah, it’s kind of weird, but I think about him pretty much everyday.
When I shop, I like to run my hands across all the fabrics as I walk by. I went shopping with my brother once, and I noticed that he does it too. If you’ve bought clothes from Valley Fair, I’ve probably touched it! :D
If I could live in any setting of a TV show, I would want to live in Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls.
I love traveling because you get to meet so many different types of people, and the places where I’ve found the highest concentrations of fascinating people have been in Japan and here at Intuit.
I love SPAM (the meat product, not the e-mails), and I don’t ever want to know what it’s made of.
All animals except for dogs freak me out on some level. I think it’s creepy that birds need to turn their heads to stare you down with one eye, you never know what a cat is thinking, all rabbits remind me of Bunnicula…
I’m terrified of airplanes, I’m a really nervous passenger in cars, and I’m afraid of parking garages. Yes, I think those are somewhat related. Whenever I’m in a car or on an airplane, I can vividly see how different scenarios of crashes and accidents could play out. I attribute my morbidity to any TV show or film produced by JJ Abrams or Jerry Bruckheimer. Seriously, nothing good ever happens in a parking garage, and huge gas trucks on the freeway spell trouble.
I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate. Right now I think we’re in the honeymoon phase — I’ll be sick of it soon.
When I watch TV, I like to watch the people in the background who aren’t talking more than the person who is. Joanne and I used to have a xanga called “faulty_friends” where we would log all the editing mistakes we found in “Friends.” In one shot, Joey would be holding a coffee mug, and in the next he’d be caffeine free. But beyond showcasing editing errors, I think the way the supporting actors behave in a scene really shows how committed they are to their roles.
On dream jobs — when I was little, I wanted to be a librarian. I also wanted to be an ice cream taster for about a week until my brother convinced me that I wasn’t as qualified as he was. In high school, I wanted to become an English teacher. Currently, my dream jobs include interior designing for “Extreme Makover: Home Edition” and set designing or script editing for TV shows.
I’m an insomniac for most nights of the week.
When I was little, I played a sparrow in a production of the “Korean Cinderella.” I had one line by myself and the rest of my parts were in unison with my flock. I think I said, “Look, here comes the frog!”
I’m not really good at some of the things that I love to do — rock climbing, snowboarding, dancing, and singing. So one of the main things I appreciate about high school and college in hindsight is that there were so many opportunities to participate in those activities without an expectation or prerequisite to be stellar or competitive.
I have a slight obession with license plates. I laugh at clever personalized ones, but I love when I can find meaning in the accidental permutations of letters and numbers. I saw this one today in the Intuit parking lot — loves it!

I have a habit of biting my nails. I paint my nails as often as possible as a deterrent because it makes them taste bad.
I’ve always had trouble with the 12’s times tables.
